Wayne County Outlook

March 5, 1936

In memory of our dear father who passed away February 16, 1936. He was a beloved father, who was kind kind and liked by those who knew him. He had not been able to work for years, but had only been bedfast for the past three months, when it was discovered he was suffering from a cancer of the stomach.

He is survived by his wife and nine children- 6 girls and 3 boys, who were with him at the time of his death, with the exception of his youngest daughter, Mrs. Lena Reed, who had been living in Asheville, N. C., for the past year: two brothers, both of whom are living. Bill Brown, of No. 2 and Wite, of Burnside.

Ob, how we miss him.
But we know he is at rest
On that shore where is no pain or sorrow;
Sometimes the way is trying,
And the lamps of faith burn low,
Bat when our journeys ended
We can meet him in that city beyond.
Oh, let us be more cheery,
When fleeting days depart,
Though all around us is dreary
But keep sunshine in our heart.
For like tender music, we hear
The angels call, then we know
Our blessed hour has come,
We will be at home with him forever
more.
