When William Hennessy was born on 11th September 1913, in Pontypridd, Glamorgan, his father, Laurence, was 41 and his mother, Johanna, was 32. He married Joan M E Chandler in July 1939 in Staines, Middlesex. They had two children during their marriage. He died in July 1980 in Towcester, Northamptonshire, at the age of 66.
