Obituary for Frances Gann

Amory – Mary Frances Ritter Gann, 71, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. Born on March 31, 1945, in Amory, she was the daughter of the late Ollie Judson and Laura Louise Wardlaw Ritter.

Mrs. Gann was a graduate of Amory High School, class of 1964. Frances was a lifelong member of Bigbee Baptist church. The love of flowers and plants led her to be a successful business woman who owned Gann’s Flowers and Gifts, South Amory Florist in Amory and Medical Center Florist in Tupelo. She also worked for Bellsouth Mobility, Cingular Wireless and AT&T. In her free time, Frances enjoyed playing online games, crafting, bargain hunting at all fabric and craft stores as well as talking on the telephone. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery and making various items for her children and grandchildren. While arranging her floral pieces and crafting, she enjoyed listening to country and gospel music especially artists Mickey Gilley and Elvis Presley. One of her favorite songs was “I did it my way” by Elvis. She kept her family strong and was the backbone of her family. She will be missed not only by her family but also by her closest friends, Peggy Smith, Glenda Curle, Judy Aimes, Betty Betts, and Faye Lovern.

Survivors include her sons, Johnny Gann, Jr. (Wyvonda), Michael Harlow (Leigh) both of Amory; grandchildren, Courtney Mills (Jamie), Ashley Raper, Breanna Gann, Cordell Gann, Crystal Jones (Junior), Alan T. Gann II, Finely Kate Harlow, Britteny Raditz, and Madison Parker; great-grandchildren, Aliyah Mills, Abbigail Mills, Austyn Mills, Landon Raper, Logan Raper, Wyatt Raper, Dallas Jones and Dakota Jones; nephew, Robert E. Ritter, Jr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Alan Todd Gann I; two brothers, Herbert Ray Ritter and Robert Eugene Ritter
