AMORY - Laura Louise Wardlaw Ritter, "Big Momma", 82 died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at the Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory after an extended illness. She was born July 15, 1922, in Smithville to the late William Eugenene and Laura Elyvin Salene Todd Wardlaw. She grew up in the Bigbee community of Monroe County and had lived in Amory for the past 55 years. She attended Monroe County schools. She married Ollie Judson Ritter on Dec. 21 1940, in Amory; he preceded her in death in 1981. She was a Baptist and the last member of her immediate family. She was a homemaker who enjoyed flower gardening, painting, crochet work and cooking.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at E.E. Pickle Funeral Homoe in Amory with Bro. Tommy Whaley officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Frances Ritter Gann of Amory; four grandchildren, Robert Eugene Ritter Jr., Johnny Franklin Gann Jr., Alan Rodd Gann and Johnathan Micheal Harlow; nine great-grandchildren, Victoria Nicole Ritter, Thomas Andrew Ritter, Courtney Amanda Gann, Ashley Jonell Gann, Breanna Jean Gann James Cordell Gann, Alan Todd Gann II, Crystal Paige Gann and Elizabeth Jean Estes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Robert Eugene Ritter Sr. and Herbery Ray Ritter; six brothers, William Howard Wardlaw, Guy Mitchell Wardlaw, John Rolder Wardlaw, Woodrow Wilson Wardlaw, Paul Jones Wardlaw and Cecil Wardlaw; five sisters, Donnie Free Wardlaw Burrow, Onnie Quay Wardlaw Brewer, Gladys Hazel Wardlaw Burroughts, Vodie Lee Wardlaw Rea and Mary Jean Wardlaw Sargent.

Pallbearers will be Robert E. Ritter Jr., Johnny Franklin Gann Jr., Alan Todd Gann, Jonathan Micheal Harlow, Thomas Andrew Ritter, Alan Todd Gann Ii, John Howard Ritter and Earlie Wayne Conwill.

Visitaion will continue today at the funeral home until time for services.
