He was a native of Caswell County, N.C., and lived in Waynesboro six years.
He was employed by Norfolk & Western Railway in Norfolk before going to Waynesboro, where he was yard master and supervising agent for the railway. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro and a former member of Burrows Memorial Baptist Church, Norfolk; a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Lee Masonic Lodge 208 and the Norfolk & Western Veterans Association.
The body will be taken from Derry-Twiford Funeral Home to Burrows Memorial Baptist Church for a funeral service conducted today at 3 p.m. by Rev.Herman Mauch, pastor, the Rev. Willie Richardson of Great Bridge Baptist Church and the Rev. Allen Walsh of Riverside Baptist Church.
Burial will be Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of his mother at 838 W. 46th St. The body will be taken to the church at 2 p.m.
