Carrine L. Tomter 80, passed away at her home on May 13, 2013. She was born on April 24, 1933 in Mondovi, WI, and was one of six children to Clarence and Lulie Johnson. They grew up as a farming family in the rolling hills of northwestern Wisconsin. The youngest of six, she was always the ever playful one. She adored her father and loved taking rides in his pickup truck with him. She was a loving wife to Richard L. Tomter whom she married on January 1, 1956. They too had a large family of five but had one child die at birth. She and her husband loved traveling in their motorhome across the country with their family. Along with traveling she also loved to go to garage sales to find the latest bargain to bring home. She doted on her children and numberous grandchildren. She is survived by her three sons: Mark Tomter, Dean (Janna) Tomter, Scott (Tammy) Tomter, Sisters: Lorraine Debel, Evie (Jim) Cleveland, 5 Grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Lulie Johnson, her husband Richard L. Tomter, daughters Debra and Carla Tomter, brothers Burton and Herbert Johnson and sister Doris Nelson. A memorial service will be held at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Montgomery, IL, on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 1:00pm. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service.
