Mrs. Horn grew up and attended schools in the Davilla, Texas area, and at the age of 18, moved to Dallas to work at Lockheed during World War II. She came to Arkansas in 1944, where she met and married Mr. Cecil Conway Horn of Sharp County.
She worked at various jobs over the years, but after her marriage, she spent most of her time as a homemaker, taking care of her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Horn loved to read and work crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Conway Horn; one daughter, Mary Jo Horn Safirt; her step-children, Darrell Horn and Melba Horn; one sister, Virginia Spaulding; three brother, J.P, George, and Richard Anderson; and her parents.
Mrs. Horn is survived by one son, Bryan Horn of Newport; three daughters, Connie Davenport of Diaz; Veronica Thompson and husband, Tom, of Evening Shade, and Gwen Shreve and husband, Mike, of Jonesboro; two sisters, Audrey Gyllenskog of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Dawn Wagner of Bryan, Texas; one brother, Gilbert Anderson and wife, Lien, of Irving, Texas; and five grandchildren, Calvin Safirt, Jr., Conway Safirt, Teri Snider, Cecilia Gauf, and Mica Shreve.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Thursday, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
