Richard Allen Anderson, 78, of Davilla, TX passed away November 21st 2013 in Temple, TX.

Richard was born on July 9, 1935 in Holland to the late Ed and Marie Anderson.

He served in the Air Force from 1952 until December 1966, and then served in the Army from 1968 until Sept. 1973. After his military retirement he worked as a helicopter mechanic until retiring in 2000.

Sgt. Anderson is survived by his wife Evelyn of Davilla; a son, Allan Anderson of Colorado; a stepson, Steven Faulkner of Bartlett; a daughter-in-law Geraldine Faulkner of Temple; three sisters, Audry Guillenskog of Salt Lake City, UT; June Horn of New Port, AR; Dawn Wagner (husband Richard) of Bryan, TX; a brother Gilbert (wife Lien) of Irving, and 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Richard is preceded in death by a son, Justin Anderson; a stepson, H. K. Faulkner Jr.; a sister, Virginia Spaulding; and brothers J.P. and Buster Anderson.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to the Bartlett and Holland Volunteer Fire Departments.

Visitation will be held from 6-8pm at Goodnight Funeral Home in Bartlett on Monday November 25th.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am in Goodnight Funeral Home of Bartlett on Tuesday November 26th 2013. Burial will follow immediately in Davilla Cemetery.
