Mrs. J. M. Landers Dies in Columbus
Mrs. J. M. Landers, aged 79 years, died at her home in Columbus, Ga., at 2:30 a.m. Thursday after an illness of ten days. The deceased was well known in Chambers County, having resided at Allen's Mill for years, where she has a host of friends who will regret to hear of her death. Moved from there to Columbus about three years ago. She was a member of the East Highland Methodist Church. Her pastor, Rev. J. P. Daughtry, and Rev. D. G. Mann, assistant pastor of St. Luke's Methodist Church, conducted the funeral services from the residence Friday morning at 11 o'clock.
The funeral was attended by a large number of friends and many beautiful floral tributes were silent evidences of the high esteem in which she was held.
The deceased is survived by her husband, one son, J. E. Landers, two grandchildren - M. L. Landers and Miss Grace Landers, of Columbus; four sisters - Mrs. J. W. Henderson and Mrs. T. G. Bowling, of LaFayette; Mrs. W. J. Landers of Roanoke, and Mrs. E. Stanfield, of Pavo, Ga. Interment was in Riverdale Cemetery, Columbus.
