Mrs. Clara Marie Kolb Brashears, wife of Joseph O Brashears, who resided on Meadow Road, Rt. 6, died suddenly at her residence on Monday afternoon, Dec. 1. She was born in Frederick County on Nov. 21, 1913 the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marion Kolb.

Mrs. Brashears for a number of years had been employed by Sagners and had more recently been employed at the Norge Laundry and Cleaning Village of Frederick and the People's Drug Stores. She had been a member of the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church for a number of years.

Surviving besides her husband are one son, William H. Biddinger Jr., Rt. 1, Thurmont, one daughter, Mrs. Elsie Edwina Haynes, Rt. 6, one step-daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Eckard, Westminster, one brother, George W. Kolb, Frederick, one sister, Mrs. Elsie Smith, Taneytown, one half-sister, Mrs. Lillie White, near Baltimore. Also surviving are six grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Smith, Fadeley, Kenney, & Brasford Funeral Home, (Formerly Etchison's), 106 East Church St. on Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Raymond T. Moreland Jr. pastor of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
