Mary Ann R. Stattner Bow went home to be with her heavenly Father Sunday May 15, 2016 at her home in Caldwell, Idaho. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Mary Ann was born December 16, 1935 in Gate, Oklahoma to Jones Stattner, Sr, and Sarah Ellen Eells Stattner. She spent her early years in Oklahoma, began grade school in Kansas, and then settled with her family in the Sunnyslope area for the remainder of her school years. She left school after 10th grade and began working to help support her family. She loved to tell her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren about how she and her sister, Venetta, would ride their horse to school and how much she loved algebra.

Times were tough in the 1930’s and 1940’s and as the oldest daughter of five siblings Mary Ann had many responsibilities including cooking, cleaning, and caring for her siblings. She especially loved helping to raise her youngest brother James Stattner whom she called “her baby.”

She married Alvin Windholz in 1952. Diana and Mary were born from this marriage. In 1962, she married Don Bow and together they had Gregory and Gina.
Family was Mary Ann’s passion in life. She worked hard to provide for her children in the retail grocery business beginning in 1958 and retiring from Albertson's in 1998.

Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were Mary Ann’s greatest joy, and spoiling them was her favorite hobby. They were the lucky recipients of her unconditional love as she read stories to them, recited nursery rhymes and sang songs. She also loved gardening, refinishing furniture, and making Christmas candy.

Mary Ann is survived by her children Diana (Cody) Odle of Middleton, Mary (Steve) McDonald of Trophy Club, Texas, Greg (Barb) Bow of Boerne Texas, and Gina (Eric) Huntsinger of Caldwell; her grandchildren Jason Readman of Meridian, Jacque (Shane) Livingston of Nampa, Zak (Sara) McDonald of Trophy Club, Texas, Sarah (Clark) Northcutt of Rhome, Texas, Jeff (Allie) Huntsinger of Boise, Jessica (Chase) Wolfe of Meridian, and Emily, Madeline, and Andrew Bow of Boerne, Texas; great grandchildren Collin, Katelyn and Kinley McDonald of Trophy Club, Texas, Cooper and Nathan Livingston of Nampa, Idaho, Elijah Northcutt of Rhome, Texas, and Trey Wolfe of Meridian, Idaho who was born the day she was called home; her brother John (Thelma) Stattner of Nampa, Idaho; sisters-in-law Norma Stattner and Darlene Stattner, as well as -numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Jones Stattner Jr, and James Stattner; her loving sister Venetta Stattner Chrz; one grandson, and two nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00, Monday, May 23rd at Canyon Hill Cemetery.
