Donald Mathis Hughes, age 68, of OKC, OK, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2011, at his home while sleeping. Don was born on April 30, 1943 in Jackson, Mississippi, to parents, Caswell and Minnie Hughes. Don loved to cook up some BBQ or spend the day making cakes and pies. Don is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Hughes, 53; his son, James Hughes, 48; and his daughter, Deborah Ward, 43, and husband Jason Ward. Don was the proud Paw Paw of four grandchildren: Josh Hughes, 21; Ian Ward, 12; MacKenzie Ward, 10; and Hannah Hughes, 10. Don will have visitation on Monday, November 28th, at Guardian West Funeral Home from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. His services will be held on Tuesday, November 29th, at the Guardian West Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m., followed by burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
