She graduated from Page High School in 1933 during the heart of the depression. In 1934, June and a friend "hitchhiked" to Scottsbluff area with hopes of finding work. She was a valued employee at several businesses including Woolworths, Ford Garage in Mitchell and during World War II she worked fro Speigelburg Construction as a bookkeeper during the construction of the airport.
June met her husband Lem Webb at a dance at Sanford Hall in Mitchell, and they were married on March 21-1939 in Dalton, NE. . During part of WWII, Lem and June worked in shipyards in Vancouver, Washington. After the war, they started a business in Mitchell and she lived there most of her life. She was a stay at home mom till 1960 when she started working for Hick-Williams Agency in Mitchell as a bookkeeper and tax preparer until she retire in 1986. During this time she as Mitchell City Treasurer for 20 years
Lem passed away in 1978 and she remained a widow for the rest of her life.
She was happiest when she was following her grandkids activities. She always put her family first and they were her real joy in life. She was known in Mitchell as the "the Walker" as she walked three miles until she was 90.
