Services for Mark W. Bass, 80, of Red Oak, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Sellergren Lindell Funeral Home here with the Rev. Ronald Petrak officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
He died December 7 at Merry Care Center, Omaha, Nebraska, following a brief illness.
Born, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Bass, April 17, 1984, in Red Oak, he married Zula E. Slump, June 26, 1929. He married Lela Taylor in Lincoln, Nebraska, July 30, 1952, following the death of his first wife.
He lived all of his life in Montgomery County where he farmed before moving to Red Oak in 1951.
He was a member of A.S.C. Committee of Montgomery County, Stennett School Board, Union Lodge No 176 IOOF and First Methodist Church.
Surviving include his wife, three daughters, Jean Smith of Adel, Carolyn Carlson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Shirley Underwood of Las Vegas, Nevada; stepson, Roger Lentz of Atlanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren; two brothers, Cary and Ralph both of Fredericksburg, Virginia,; sister, Ruth Bass of Fairfield, California.
