MRS. CORA E. BASS SERVICES ARE FRIDAY
Services will be held Friday, August 19, at 2 p.m. at the Perryman Chapel for Mrs. Cora Etta Bass, 75 of Falmouth, Virginia, who was struck by a car while crossing the street in front of her home there Monday, August 15. She formerly lived in Red Oak.
Rev. Asa Bopp will officiate. Music will be by Miss Jean Bass. Serving on the floral committee will be Mrs. Harry B. Turner and Mrs. Francis Mellott.
Beares wil be Harry B. Turner, James Good, William Baker, Roy Van Buskirk, H. M. Pennington, and Frank Mellott. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kearney, she married Francis W. Bass in Mills County in 1895. She had lived in Silver City, Carson, Red Oak, Stennett, Seattle, Washington, Washington D. C., and Falmont, Virginia.
A member of the Methodist Church, she is survived by three sons, Mark of Stennett, Ralph of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Cary of Fairmouth, Virginia; two daughters, Mrs. Florence Stewart of Seattle, Washington, and Ruth Bass living in California.
A sister, Mrs. Maude Clifford of Boston, Massachusetts; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Her husband died in Stennett in 1933.
