Christian Biography of Frances “Feetzie” K. Brazil

Frances “Feetzie” Brazil, the daughter of Herman and Meta Matilda Louise (Schleif) Bargen, was born on June 19, 1937 in Superior, Nebraska. She passed away on May 5, 2016 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 78 years, 10 months, 16 days.

Feetzie was born and raised in Superior, Nebraska. From a young age she was nicknamed by her father as “Feetzie.” She has gone by this name all of her life and has always said you could send her a letter and address it to only Feetzie and the mail man would know right where to deliver it to. One of her childhood memories was attending barn dances at her grandparent’s farm northwest of Superior. She also ran a popcorn stand downtown with her brothers and sister when she was younger.

Feetzie was involved in numerous activities growing up including baton twirling and being the Drum Majorette for the Superior High School Band. She was a member of the 1955 Superior graduating class. She was very proud of being a part of this group, as they all stayed very close throughout the years planning and enjoying their class reunions.

She was united in marriage to Larry Brazil on May 27, 1960 in Superior, Nebraska. This union was blessed with four children. She loved her family and home. Larry and her purchased her grandparents’ home in Superior and have spent their life making it their own. They had many renovations done throughout the years and she spent countless hours caring for her lawn and flowers. She was particularly proud of the last 26 years spent caring for her son David in her home.

Feetzie was employed for 33 years in transportation for the Nuckolls County Senior Services. She also was employed throughout her life time at many businesses in Superior including; Superior Floral, the Dairy Queen, and the Superior Express.

Feetzie enjoyed watching her kids and then her grandkids participate in their sporting events and other school activities. Some fond memories that her grandchildren shared were the annual Easter egg hunts at her house, the 4th of July festivities which included fireworks, and homemade ice-cream.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Larry on April 3, 2007; her brother Duane Bargen and sister Jana Franck.

Survivors include her children: sons, Gregg and wife Debbie and David Brazil all of Superior, Nebraska, two daughters, Lynn Meyer and husband Brent of Lincoln, Nebraska and Lisa Sorensen and husband Steve of Ruskin, Nebraska; eight grandchildren, Tiffany (Kyle) Mundorf , Rachel (Mark Warren) Brazil, Matthew (Kaitlin) Brazil, Andrew Brazil, Nathaniel Meyer, Danielle Meyer, Kendra (Andy)Else and Trent (Amy)Sorensen; seven great-grandchildren, Morgan and Hayden Neeman, Blake and Khloe Mundorf, Raidyn Brazil and Raegan and Taylor Else; her brother Bill Bargen (Joan) of Okanogan, Washington and sister-in-law Frances Bargen of Lincoln, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Dorothy Smith officiating.

Music was “How Great Thou Art,” and “Wind Beneath My Wings,” solos by Tiffany Willett with Carlita Price as her accompanist.

Pallbearers were Nathaniel Meyer, Matthew Brazil, Andrew Brazil, Trent Sorensen, Tiffany Neeman, Morgan Neeman, Kendra Else and Danielle Meyer. Honorary Pallbearers were Rachel Brazil, Hayden Neeman, Blake Mundorf, Khloe Mundorf, Raidyn Brazil, Raegan Else and Taylor Else.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.

A memorial has been established and may go in care of the family.
