Rev. John Carlos Amyx, age 93 of Clarksville, went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Springfield.


A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Hilldale Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Robertson officiating.


John was born February 17, 1923 in Cookersburg, KY, son of the late William Franklin Amyx and Hattie Smith Amyx. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Anne Amyx; son, Ron Amyx; brothers, Dennis Amyx, Tex Amyx, and Jim Amyx; sisters, Christine Hale, Marie Hurley, Opal Shepard, Liz Mullins, and Georgia Amyx. One child with Shirley, memorial #218342591, died in infancy.


John was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church and was a proud WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army.
