Alpha Christine Hale, age 89, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at Rosebud Village. Born May 23, 1925, in Mount Auburn, Indiana, to William F. and Hattie Smith Amyx, she lived most of her life in this area. Christine was a member of Kings Highway Holiness Church where she was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She retired from Belden in 1984 and was a member of the 25 year Club. Survivors include her son, Alton (Sharon) Hale of Richmond; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Denise) Hale, Curtis (Amy) Hale, Alex (Karen) Hale, Alton (Jennifer) Hale II, H. Nathan (Brittney) Vest, and Vanessa (Rick) Gibbons; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Amyx of Berea, Kentucky and Carlos Amyx of Hawksville, Tennessee; nieces; nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elthur L. Hale who died October 29, 2009; parents; four sisters, Marie, Opal, Elizabeth, and Georgia Ann; and three brothers, Dennis, Hubert, and James. Visitation for Alpha Christine Hale will be from 3 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2014, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2014, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Robert E. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery.
