Lyle is the son of Arthur and Jeanette (Boggs)Stern

Married Iona Jean Heikes on May 29-1955 in Wayne NE.

Moved to Valley NE, where Lyle owned and operated Stern's Standard Station.
In 1960 they moved to Blair where he worked at Vinton's Motors and then Blair Community Schools until retirement.

He was a member of the Spinning Wheels Square Dance Club. Lyle enjoyed pitching horseshoes and bowling, and playing over 50 softball league

Lyle was a member at the First Lutheran Church in Blair.

Preceded by his parents, Wife, brothers, Raymond and Bernard, sisters Letty Mundt, Bonnie Bargman, Violet Graff, and Dorothy Lasley and son in law Andrew Hart.
