LUTHER HAWKINS, 78, of Carrollton, died Monday at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton. He was a carpenter and a farmer. He was a member of Carrollton United Methodist Church.

His wife, Rose Crawford Hawkins, died in 1989.

Survivors include a son, Arthur "Sonny" Hawkins of Warsaw; a daughter, Bernice Hillman of Winterhaven, Fla.; sisters, Eva Williams of Carrollton, Angliee Aldridge of Port Royal, Gladys Roberts of Washington, D.C., and Mary Turner of Vivay, Ind.; brothers, Woodrow Hawkins of Elizabethtown and Joe Hawkins of Campbellsburg; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton. Visitation will be there after 5 tonight. Burial will be in Carrollton I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Carroll County. Memorials are suggested to the A.C.C.U. Unit at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton.
