Everett Crabtree
SHELBYVILLE, Mo. — Everett Crabtree, 74, of Shelbyville, died at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 11, 1995) in his home.
He was born in Hartshorne [sic] Aug. 26, 1921, a son of Adam Henry and Elizabeth Morgan Crabtree. He married Bonnie Sherwood Dec. 16, 1946, in Shelbyville. She survives.
Mr. Crabtree served in the Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart during the Battle of the Bulge in France. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Shelbina American Legion.
Survivors also include five daughters, Kay Crane of Palmyra, Barbara S. Buckley of Kansas City, Linda Donath of Chillicothe, and Cindy Sickal and Sandy Beall, both of Clarence; a son, Dennis Crabtree of Monroe City; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; four brothers, Roy Crabtree of Palmyra, Nathan Crabtree of St. Louis. Leonard Crabtree of Shelbina and Clinton Crabtree of O'Fallon; and a sister, Mae Abernathy of Houston, Mo.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Virgil L. Crabtree, and a sister, Ruth Howard.
Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Chapel in Shelbyville by the Rev. Amy Jaime Wood. Burial will be in Shelby Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 tonight, in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice.
