Reverend George Henry DeHart, age 90, of Marshville, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center-Union.

Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at Davis Funeral Chapel, officiated by Reverend Sonny Rogers and Reverend Ken Parsons. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. DeHart was born on October 28, 1923, in Bryson City, North Carolina, a son of the late A. A. DeHart and Elizabeth Howard DeHart.

He was an ordained minister since the 1950's and a gifted carpenter. He was a member of Back to Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Pearl Welch DeHart, a son George Joseph DeHart and wife Kathy of Waxhaw, NC, two daughters Grace Anne Eason of Indian Trail, NC, and Janet Elaine Antonucci and husband Tom of Marshville, NC. He has two grandsons David Eason of Huntersville, NC, and Joey DeHart of Waxhaw, NC; and three granddaughters Julie Eason Jenkins of Taylorsville, NC, Stephanie Rutherford of Wingate, NC, and Jennifer Antonucci of Marshville, NC; and there are three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service at Davis Funeral Home.
