Percival DeHart, 88, of Bryson City, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 9th, 2009 at his residence. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Abbie and Lizzie Howard DeHart. He was a longtime employee with the Bryson City Police Department and Swain County Sheriffs Department. He was a member of Dan Springs Baptist Church. He was a US Army Veteran having served during WWII. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry DeHart.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Floye Arvey DeHart, two daughters, Maxine Breedlove and husband David of Bryson City and Anita Brintnall and husband Philip of Bryson City, one son Raymond DeHart and wife Kim of Winston-Salem, NC, 6 grandchildren, Christina Tyson, Jacob DeHart, Kaylan DeHart, Joule Breedlove, Justin Cochran, and Angela Rogers, and one brother, George DeHart of Marshville, NC

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. James Cochran will officiate with burial in Tabor Cemetery.
