GRIM REEPER ALSO TAKES TOLL OF THREE FROM HOMES IN MADISON
John Beide, Sr., 66 years old, pioneer resident of this section of Madison County, died suddenly at the home of his son, Casper Beide, 2405 Madison avenue, this city, at 2:40 o'clock this morning, the end coming during his sleep. His wife heard him utter a cry, and summoned the other members of the family. A physician was called who pronounced him dead. A hemorrhage of the brain is believed to have caused his death.
Deceased, who had been making his home with his son here for the past several years, had never been ill, according to a statement given out his morning, and he was in apparent good health when he retired fro the evening. He had not complained of any illness. The death was quite a shock to the family.
Mr. Beide had been employed at the local rolling mills. During his entire life he had resided in the vicinity of Granite City.
He is survived by four sons and four daughters. They are: Casper, Joseph, a former alderman; John, Jr. and Arthur Beide, Mrs. Mary Hoelter, Mrs. Clara Warden, Mrs. Agnes Zimmer, all of this city and Mrs. Catherine Grolmes of Canal.
The funeral will be Monday morning with services at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Mark's Cemetery.
