Nina Pearl Fitzwater Pierce, 85, of Moorefield, W.Va., died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, W.Va., where she had lived for the past four years.

Mrs. Pierce was born Dec. 3, 1917, in Fort Run, and was a daughter of the late Abraham Jackson and Mary Catherine Whetzel Fitzwater.

She was employed by Peoples Drug Stores (now CVS) at their Washington, D.C., headquarters for 43 years. She was a member of the Moorefield Church of the Brethren.

Her husband, Meade L. Pierce, preceded her in death in July 1974.

She is survived by two brothers, Noah Fitzwater and Russell Fitzwater; two sisters, Maxine Shrout and Shirley Hose, all of Moorefield, W.Va.; and a number of nieces, and nephews.

Pastor Harold Garber will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield, W.Va. Burial will follow at the Olivet Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
