Roland G. “Buster” Lilly, 84 of Shady Spring, died Wednesday, 13 Apr 2016, at his home following a short illness.

Born 13 Apr 1932 at Forest Hill, he was the son of the late Emmett and Rose Cottle Lilly. Mr. Lilly was a 1950 graduate of Forest Hill High School. He was a central office technician for 37 years for Bell Atlantic. Mr. Lilly was a veteran of the US Army and a member of Open Door Church at Shady Spring. He enjoyed gardening and playing golf.

He was preceded in death by six sisters, Louise Allen, Christine Lilly, Viola Buckland, Naomi Wood, Avenell Lilly and Leota Solacz along with three brothers, John, Edgar and Ralph Lilly.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Phyllis Sears Lilly. One son, Gerald Lilly and wife Kellie of Daniels; two daughters, Teresa Blankenship and husband David of Daniels and Pamela Crumb and husband William of Shady Spring; one brother, Athoel Lilly of Marie; four grandsons, Patrick Blankenship and Anthony, Matthew and Jon Crumb; one granddaughter, Blaine Blankenship; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Lilly of Forest Hill; several nieces and nephews and special friends, John and Lillie Harl also survive.
