Norma Jean Lawson age 92 years, 3 months, and 7 days, of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed away Friday, April 8, 2016.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Harvey Logan officiating. Burial followed in the T Chitwood Cemetery.

She was born January 25, 1924 in Creekmore, Kentucky to Frances Creekmore and Lula (Gilreath) Creekmore. Norma was a member of the Hayes Creek Church of God for 73 years and had served as an officer of the General Assembly for 12 years. Before her retirement, she was a factory payroll clerk and a tax consultant with H&R Block She and her sisters formed a singing group that was known as the Creekmore Sisters. In her spare time she enjoyed playing piano, cooking and baking.

Preceding her in death are her parents; a son, Robert H. Lawson; daughter-in-law, Ima Jean Lawson; a sister, Pearl Anderson; and brothers-in-law, Earl Anderson, Cecil Trammell, and Arthur Heth.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, George Lawson; her daughter, Hanna Wright; a brother, Bobby Creekmore; sisters, Nadene Heth, and Ittylene Trammell; grandchildren, Rhea Gilreath and husband, Ben, Travis Lawson, and Sheena Pitzer and husband, James; and great-grandchildren, Max Gilreath, Wyatt Pitzer, and Lyla Pitzer.
