William was born abt. 1830 in Amherst County, Virginia; to Joel Bias & Elizabeth (Harrison) Bias of Amherst County, Virginia.
William Was married to Nancy Taylor on 20 Feb 1852 and they had 3 Daughters and 2 sons before William left to fight.
My GG Grandfather Henry Bias spoke of losing his brother William and 1/2 Brother Palantine Bias in the war and that was many years later.
