Ronald J. Martínez, age 57, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.
Ronald was born in Albuquerque, NM on February 13, 1959 to Henry and Mary Martínez .
Ron was a loving person who cared for everyone, he always lent a helping hand and gave from the bottom of his heart. Being sure his family's needs were taken care of and helping them was his main priority in life. Ron was always right there by their side to help, no matter what. Ron liked making people laugh and enjoyed all of those around him.
Ron and Loretta took their children on vacation every year, they enjoyed traveling together, there was always lots of laughter and happiness that made wonderful memories. Ron adored his grandchildren, he would often have McDonald's with his granddaughter, Shy-Shy, and he would say that they had a Big Mac Attack!!
Ron shared his last holiday surrounded by his family, children and grandchildren. Ron wanted to see his grandchildren find their Easter eggs which brought joy to his heart. Ron would help his wife at her job and became very good friends with their special customers at Eloy's New Mexican Restaurant.
Ron will be greatly missed by many. Ron is forever in the hearts of his wife, children and grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by his father. Henry Martínez, brother-in-law, Luther Martínez, father-in-law, Eloy Serna and brother-in-law, Frank Barela.
Ronald is survived by wife of 22 years, Loretta Martínez, daughter, Rosemary Serna, son-in-law, Matthew Lara, daughter, Lisa Marie Serna, son, Roman Martínez, daughter-in-law, Roxanne Martínez, mother, Mary Martínez, grandchildren, Shiann, Mia Angelica, Eloy, Ricky and Dominic Jr., brothers, Bob and his wife, Yolanda, Dave and his wife, Margarita and Pete Martínez, sisters, Rose and Tina and her husband, Leon Sisneros, mother-in-law, Rosie Serna and Joe Armenta, sisters-in-law, Debbie Serna-Black, Eloisa Taylor, Carl Baca, Ruth Martínez and Adele Martínez, several nieces and nephews, godchildren, Angela Sánchez, Jennifer Grano, Kirsten Martínez and Shiann Hernández and dog Chiquito.
Service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bob Martínez, Dave Martínez, Pete Martínez and Jeremiah Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Shiann Hernández, Mia Angelica Rivera, Eloy Rivera, Ricky Rivera and Dominic Velásquez Jr. Reception to follow at the Carlisle Chapel reception room.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Ronald's honor to those mentioned on the website given below. St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Joy Junction, Roadrunner Food Bank and the Salvation Army.
