Charles William McDowell, 81, passed away in his home in Portland, Oregon, on Friday March 18, 2016. Bill was born to Commodore Dewey and Ruth Faye McDowell on January 29, 1935, in Faucett, Missouri. Bill served in the U.S. Army, then married Betty Paxston. They were later divorced. He then married Barbara Wattenbarger and moved to Portland,
Oregon in 1967. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a son Charles William Jr.; siblings: Mae Anderson, Opal Walker, Dorothy Potts, twins Velma Newberry and Thelma Bowman, Virginia McDowell and Dewey McDowell Jr. Survivors include his wife Barbara (Wattenbarger) McDowell; children Betty Jane Moss, Terry McDowell (Gail), Pamela Soriano, Brenda Skala (Michael), and Rodney McDowell (Rema); his sister Juania Wood;
eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Services were held in Oregon on Saturday March 26, 2016. Graveside inurnment services will be at the Faucett Cemetery, July 2016.
