Stanley Morris Fay
Fay, Stanley Morris; age 91; of Clarkston for 57 years, formerly of Pontiac and Cass City; died Monday, March 28, 2016. He was born July 5, 1924 in Cass City to Manley and Sara "Alta" (Turner) Fay. Stanley began his career at Pontiac Motors in 1944, ultimately retiring in 1982. He was very proud of his 38 year career at GM, particularly his wartime work helping to produce gun barrels. Stanley also farmed in Cass City for many years including all through the war. He married Beverly Huntwork on February 1, 1948 in Cass City at the farm. Stanley's life was very diverse including huge passions for flower gardening and music. He played the drums and violin in numerous bands throughout the years starting at age twelve. Most recently he was a member of the "Melody Makers" in the Clarkston area. Mr. Fay is survived by his children, Cheryl (Rex) Egres of Ortonville, Rhonda (Berry) Birurakis, Marcia (Larry) Schultz of Lapeer and Mark Stanley (fiance, Aimee) Fay of Clarkston; 9 grandchildren, Cyndi (Jimmy) Egres, Tonya Egres, Rich (Audrey) Reynolds, Diani (Fred) Jefferson, Stephanie (Joe Barron) Havey, David (Cassie) Schultz, Steven (Danielle) Schultz, Kevin Schultz and Jessica Fay; 12 great grandchildren, Andrew, Anna, Kaleena, Paul, Angel, Richie Jr., Allyssa, Logan, Emily, Tanner, Addison and Braxton; six great-great grandchildren, TJ, Bryce, Brenna, Emma, Zaiden and Rowan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Fay (d 2010); grandson, Rex "Tyke" Egres; 2 sisters, Marjorie Pearce and Charlotte LaPeer; 2 brothers, Gerald Fay and Manley Fay; and his parents. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Stanley's Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Dale Bullock. Burial will be in Hunters Creek Cemetery, Lapeer.
