ALTA FAY
Alta Fay, 85, of Pontiac, formerly of Grant Township, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Bad Axe, where she had been a patient for two weeks.
She was born March 23, 1898, in Grant Township, Huron County, the daughter of Enoch and Charlotte (Williamson) Turner.
Miss Turner married Manly Fay Oct. 24, 1917, in Reese. They made their home in Grant Township. Fay died May 30, 1975.
She was a member of Echo Chapter No. 337, Order of the Eastern Star, Cass City.
Mrs. Fay is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Pearce of Cass City and Mrs. Gaylord (Charlotte) LaPeer of Ubly; two sons, Stanley Fay of Pontiac and Manley Fay Jr. of Bad Axe; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. One son, Gerald, one granddaughter, Charlene, one sister, Gertrude, and one brother, Gordon, preceded her in death,
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at Little's Funeral Home, Cass City, with Rev. Harry Capps of the First Presbyterian Church of Cass City officiating.
Burial was in Grant Township Cemetery near Gagetown.
