NaDean Betty Sherer, 92, formerly of South Whitley died at 10:15 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Wellbrooke of Wabash where she was admitted on Friday.

She was born March 7, 1924 in Wabash County a daughter of Roy and Pauline (Eby) Stucker. Her formative years were spent in North Manchester. She graduated from North Manchester High School.

On June 26, 1945 she was united in marriage to Thomas C. “Tim” Sherer. They made their home in North Manchester. In 1952, they moved to South Whitley. Mr. Sherer died April 21, 2015.

She spent her 30 year work career as a bookkeeper starting with the Farmer’s Elevator, South Whitley and later moving to Whitley Feeds. She retired in 1986.

She is survived by her daughters, Lana (Jim) Reed of Wabash and Kim Calhoun of Florida; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two sisters, Lova Ward and Charlene Walters both of North Manchester.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Virgil Stucker and five sisters, Georgiadee Clark, Oznola McCullough, Geneva Kester, Dorene Smith, and Carolyn Howard.
