Doris was a volunteer with the Kitchen Band at the Joyce Rae Patterson Senior Center. She enjoyed playing the harmonica and other instruments at the various nursing homes and churches where they entertained. She also spent many hours making quilts and playing cards with her children and grandchildren.
She married Robert K. Purvis (R.K.) in 1950. He survives of the home.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Jacob L. and Beatrice (Proffit) Moran; two brothers, Ervin Dale and Lee Edward (Bud) Moran; two sisters, Evelyn Beatrice Lance and Mona Jean Moran (infant).
In addition to her husband, Doris is survived by: three sons, Daniel Keith and wife Peggy, Mark Thomas and wife Jody, Timothy Ray and wife Dimple; two grandsons, Brian and Shaun.
The body was cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel with interment in the Fillmore Cemetery. A private graveside memorial service will be held at a later date. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
