His father was William Allen Ayres-see Mormon [LDS] record #K2VM-9G3. There is no grave marker in Find a Grave that I could find because he died of pneumonia on April 22, 1865 near Velasco TX. I have a copy of his last letter to his wife, Nancy from 1865 & 1862 written from Velasco, home of the 13th [Bate's] infantry of the Confederate Army from my cousin, Claude Ayres
