Linda K. Bauman, age 62, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. Her courageous battle with cancer exemplified her strong, determined and loving character. A celebration of Linda's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at The Wesleyan Church in Watertown with Pastor Jim Biswell as celebrant. Visitation will be held Friday, September 13, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. at The Wesleyan Church. Pallbearers will be Tim Dahl, Jason Hanson, Steve Dailey, Mike Young, Al Ries and Randy Walkins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Tesch, Dr. Doug Olson, Dr. Michael McHale, Prairie Lakes Hospice, Brenda Hoium and Brown Clinic Oncology nurses.

Linda was born July 25, 1951 in Webster, SD, to Dale and Ruth (Hjellming) Amdahl. She graduated from Summit High School in 1968. She was united in marriage with Galen Bauman on January 30, 1982. She was employed by the Codington Bookmobile and the Watertown Regional Library, as the Children's Librarian. Linda's life was built on a foundation of hard work, fun, and love for her family and friends. She enjoyed her career reading to children, baking, visiting with family and spending precious time with her grandchildren; Taylor Amdahl, Chloe Bauman, Jace Peiker and Caly Hedlund.

Blessed to have shared her life are her loving husband of 31 years, Galen; her children, Arvid Amdahl of Rapid City, SD, Peter (Clare) Hedlund of Maple Lake, MN, Chrissy (Colt) Peiker and Alissa Bauman all of Watertown, SD; her brothers, Leon (Della) Amdahl of Woonsocket, SD, and Kevin (Lori) Amdahl of Sioux Falls, SD; her sisters, Sharon (Virgil) Snell of Milbank, SD; Shelly (Arlo) Anderson of Summit SD; her sisters-in-law; Cindy Amdahl of Kent, MN, Eunice Amdahl of Summit, SD, Farol (Jim) Hendrickson of Roslyn, SD, and Janie (late Neil) Stianson of Watertown, SD; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her twin sons, Jess and Brandon; her parents, Dale and Ruth Amdahl; her brothers Jerry, Gary, Les and Terry Amdahl; her father-in-law, Erwin Bauman; her mother-in-law, Amanda Bauman; her grandson, Seth Gorder; and her granddaughter, Baily Hedlund.

For memorial contributions, the family has designated a children's book to be collected and donated to the children in the Watertown and surrounding area. Reading to children was Linda's passion.
