Mary Caroline Patton, called Caroline, was a daughter of John Dorrington Patton and his wife Sarah Spaudling. She married Finis Dudley Beauchamp (15 Nov. 1825-12 June 1893) on 27 April 1847, in Itawamba County, Mississippi. He was a son of John Beachum (1789-1845) and Ann, maiden name unknown.

Dudley, as he was called, served as a Captain in a Mississippi Regiment in the Confederate States Army. After the war, he and Caroline went to Aurora, Wise County, Texas sometime around 1872. The children of Finis Dudley Beauchamp and Mary Caroline Patton were:

1. Hugh Adolphus Beauchamp (21 Feb. 1849-23 March 1917), m. Lucinda Beatrice Goddard (14 May 1853-4 Jan. 1931, dau. of Thomas Goddard & Sarah Studdard) Living in Jack Co., Texas in 1900. 9 children, 7 living. Both died in Dumas, Moore Co., Texas. Children, from 1880 and 1900 census: Callie A. Beauchamp (c. 1870), Dudley A. Beauchamp (c.1872), Martha Timothy "Mattie" Beauchamp (30 Dec. 1874-19 Dec. 1918, Baylor Co., Tx. m. Charles Dennis Coldwell), Ollie Beauchamp (c. 1877), Esselea Beauchamp (Oct. 1881), Marvin Quinten Beauchamp (7 Feb. 1892), Hugh V. Beauchamp (Dec. 1895, Houston Gerdnal 8 Dec. 1894, per WW I card).

2. Dudley Dorn Beauchamp (March 1851-Nov. 1921, Wise Co. Texas), m. Mary Ann Josephine Slimp (16 May 1860-31 Jan. 1893, bur. Slimp Cemetery, with infant daughter born & died 6 Oct. 1882, probably dau. of Landon C. & Nancy Loyd Slimp) in 1881, 2nd m. Minnie M. Balch (Dec. 1876, dau. of James E. Balch) on 29 Nov. 1904, Dorn was killed in an automobile accident in 1921. Children: Stillborn daughter (6 Oct. 1882), Lula May Beauchamp (27 March 1884-19 Nov. 1967, d. Amarillo, Potter Co., Tx.), William B. (Bryant?) "Bill" Beauchamp (June 1890-10 Dec. 1958, m. Icy Belle Cash), Ed Beauchamp (Oct. 1892)...Searles family tree says Edward (6 Oct. 1887-10 May 1923, m. Mollie Wheelock, 21 Jan. 1915).

3. John Smith Beauchamp (13 Nov. 1853-30 June 1859), died in Mississippi.

4. Sarah Ann "Sallie" Beauchamp (19 Oct. 1856-5 Oct. 1953), m. John D. Reynolds on 25 Dec. 1876. She died in Erath County, Texas; is buried with two sons in Runnels County Texas. (Thanks to Barbara Tynes Claiborne for additional information on Sallie.)

5. William Burges Beauchamp (25 April 1859-10 Aug. 1882), never married, buried at Aurora.

6. Jefferson Davis Beauchamp (6 June 1861-16 Dec. 1930),

8. Dr. Finis Dudley Beauchamp, Jr. (27 Dec. 1868-15 Jan. 1908), m. Dollie Norvell (28 June 1874-19 July 1957, listed as E. G. on 1900 census) on 23 Dec. 1895. He graduated with a degree in medicine from Fort Worth University in 1897. Living in Johnson Co., Tex. in 1900. Bur. at Aurora. Children: Oluff Dudley Beauchamp (2 Oct. 1896, son, m. Isabel Louisa Bernet, living in Oklahoma in WW I), M. C. Beauchamp (May 1898. dau.)
