Finis Dudley Beauchamp (Beachum) was, I believe, a son of John Beachum (1789-1845) and his wife Anna (d. 1859)of Itawamba Co., Mississippi. The family was originally from North Carolina, was in Kentucky briefly, was in Lawrence Co., Alabama by the 1810s (where F. D. was born), and came to Itawamba Co., Mississippi in the 1830s. Dudley, as he was called, married Mary Caroline Patton (10 Feb. 1829-10 April 1915) on 27 April 1847, in Itawamba County, Mississippi. She was a daughter of John Dorrington Patton and his wife Sarah Spaudling. Dudley and Caroline had eight children.

Dudley served as a Captain in a Mississippi Regiment in the Confederate States Army. After the War, around 1872, he went to Aurora, Wise County, Texas, where he died. (I know his brother William Beachum went first to California, then returned to Texas. I am not sure whether Dudley went out to California, or if he went directly to Texas.)

The children of Finis Dudley Beauchamp and Mary Caroline Patton were:
