Mrs. Martha Hettinger Blackwell of Chase died at home yesterday afternoon at 3:45 following a lengthy illness. She had been ill 10 years.
Born in Butler Valley March 9, 1873, she lived in Plymouth many years before moving to Chase years ago. Her husband Arthur E. died 20 years ago.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Caroline Reese, Chase; sister, Mrs. R. J. Reese, Kingston; grandsons, Thomas Reese, Chase; Arthur Reese, Riverton, N. J., and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 from the funeral home, 717 Main Street, Edwardsville, with Rev. Ephraim Hettinger, nephew of the deceased and pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Plymouth, officiating. Interment in Forty Fort Cemetery. Friends may call tonight 7 to 10 and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 10.
