Virgie O. Wallen, age 72, passed away in Henry County Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was born June 11, 1912, in Monticello, Kentucky, the daughter of Winford and Helen Sullivan Neal. She was the widow of Ernest C. Wallen, who died in 1972.
Survivors are two daughters, Christine Tabor and Sherlene Bell, both of Hagerstown; two sons, Ezra of Greenfield and Arnold of New Castle; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Frances Barnes, Goldie Wallen and Susie Weston, all of Monticello; four brothers, Vester, Arlin, Osby and Homer Neal, all of Monticello; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Monday at the Main and Frame Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Summers officiating. Burial was in South Mound Cemetery.
