Mr. James Snider, age 88, of Lanett, AL passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 at his residence. He was born on February 13, 1928 in Langdale, AL.

Mr. Snider is survived by his wife, Carol Hicks Snider; his daughter, Patricia Snider (Henry) Hart of Alexandria, VA; his son, Christopher Karl (Nancy) Snider of Longwwood, FL; four grandchildren, James Henry (Melinda) Hart, Mariah (Thomas) Hart, Katlyn Snider, and Hannah Snider; three great grandchildren, Samuel James Hart, Adeline Hart, and Patricia Rose Cushman; three siblings, Martha Snider Hall, Perry Snider, and Felix Snider.

He was preceded in death by his grandchild, John Wesley Hart; four brothers, Phil Snider, Lynwood Snider, Byron Snider, and Ronnie Snider; two sisters, Margaret Bonner and Marion Bonner.

Mr. Snider was a member of the Lanett 1st. United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Auburn University and he briefly played minor league baseball. He served as head of recreation for Calloway Mills in Millstead, GA. In 1955, he became an FBI Special Agent. He served for the next 30 years in Chicago, Newark, Atlanta, Birmingham, and Moblie. After his retirement, he became a security contractor for the banking industry. He was an avid golfer.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM (EST) at the Lanett 1st. United Methodist Church with the Rev. Russell Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfax Cemetery in Valley. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 PM (EST) until service hour at the church.
