Ronald was born Aug. 24, 1921 in Onarga Township, the son of Leon Danforth Conn and Ethel Daugharthy Conn. He married Benita Mary Leonard on June 18, 1942.
He will be dearly missed by his wife; four children, Mary, Barbara (Jerry) Haynes, Robert (Jan) and Donald (Jane; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one sister, Reta Benson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two brothers and two sisters.
Ronald grew up on the family farm near Del Rey, Illinois and returned to the same farm and continued farming until he retired in 2006. He attended grade school in Del Rey and graduated from Onarga High School.
On April 19, 1944, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Forces and was honorably discharged May 11, 1946.
Mr. Conn served on numerous boards, including 12 years on the Onarga school board, where he was past president, Iroquois County Extension Council, Iroquois County Board and Ford Iroquois Health Board. He was past commander and member of Onarga Legion and past president and member of Onarga Lions Club. He was a member of Onarga United Methodist Church. Ronald loved his family and farm and enjoyed airplanes and traveling.
