Love at first sight
The bride was nervous and blushing, but her bridegroom seemed quite confident. Elsie Krontz, 83 years young, and her new husband, George J. Chadwick, 78, were united in marriage in a special ceremony at Colton Manor Wednesday evening. A number of guests of the home attended as well as several members of the volunteer staff. Following the ceremony, the happy couple was honored at a reception in the dining hall. A native of Wales, Mr. Chadwick resided most of his life in New York City where he was a vaudeville star. He recalled that he once fired a comedian because, as Mr. Chadwick explained, he had no talent. “This comedian turned out to be Jerry Lewis,” he said. Mrs. Chadwick is a native of Indian Springs. She explained that it must have been love at first sight because she only met her husband in February.
