Mrs. Charles (Velval [sic] Dalton) Blacker, 95, of Monticello died 11:30 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 21, 1979) in Kirby Hospital, Monticello.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Mackey Funeral Home, Monticello, with visitation 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Monticello Cemetery.
Mrs. Blacker was born in Somerset, Ky., daughter of Wesley and Mary Dalton. She married James E. Gadbury in 1901. He died in 1926. She married Charles C. Blacker in 1936. He died in 1952.
Surviving are sons, Hugh and Leslie Gadbury, both of Monticello; Berlie Gadbury of Chicago; daughters, Grace Gadbury of Monticello; Lillie Samuels of Decatur; Elsie Snoke of Cerro Gordo; Mary Sibbitt of Mount Zion; step-daughter, Flossie Kuhn of Rock Island; brother, Carl of Somerset, Ky.; sister, Delia Weaver of Monticello; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
One daughter preceded her in death.
