Carl A. Hoffmann, 84, of Belvidere, formerly of Sycamore, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1992, at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford.
He was born June 26, 1908, in Sycamore, the son of Carl C. and Alice (Austin) Hoffmann. He married Fannie E. Wainio on April 1, 1933, in Yorkville.
He attended Sycamore schools, and was employed by the Rockford School District in their maintenance department for many years.
He is survived by one son, William Hoffmann of Belvidere; one daughter, Jane (William) Jacobs of Shelton, Wash.; four grandchildren, William, Jason, Erik and Beth; two sisters, Violet Stenstrom of Winfield, Kan., and Edna Foster of Montgomery; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1988, and one brother, William.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Butala-Van Natta Funeral Home in Sycamore, with Bert Johnson officiating. Burial is in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
