Final rites are being conducted this Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Van Natta Funeral Home for Carl Fredrick

at 2:30 O'clock at the home of his daughter and husband, the James Fosters, who tenderly cared for him during his long period of illness. He made his home with them for a number of years.
The Rev. Bruce Herrstrom of the Oak Park Central Avenue Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood cemetery.
He was born August 18, 1880, in Sycamore, the son of Henry and Katherine Lowe Hoffman. He attended the local schools and in 1902 was married to Alice Austin of Sycamore, her death occurring in 1944. Their first married years were spent in farming in rural Sycamore. Later, Mr. Hoffman was employed as a meat cutter in local meat markets and for a number of years was manager of the DeKalb County Locker in Sycamore.
He was always very devoted to his home and family and was a kind neighbor and friend. Left to mourn his death are two daughters, Mrs. James (Edna) Foster of this city and Mrs. Paul

sister, Miss Lena Hoffman who resides at the County Home; and daughter-in-law, Mrs. William Hoffman. He was preceded in death by a son, William, also four brothers, Henry, Albert, Fred and Ernest Hoffman, and two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Miller and Mrs. Elizabeth O'Malley.
