Eloise Elsensohn, 101, of Agency, passed away January 30, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Society in Ottumwa.

She was born at home in Wapello County on March 15, 1914, to Clifford D. and Olive Vest Giltner. She was an Agency resident since 1938 and was a graduate of Ottumwa High School. She married Grover W. Elsensohn on August 27, 1933. He preceded her in death August 29, 1976.

Grover and Eloise operated Grover’s Hardware Store in Agency for 36 years. They both had a love for horses and attended many trail rides. She enjoyed animals, especially birds, and spent many hours feeding and watching them. She cherished the presence of family, friends and the volunteers who assisted her.

She was an active member of the Agency United Methodist Church and had served on the board for Agency Housing Authority and Area Agency on Aging. She was a life member of Agency T.T.T. Society, Wapello County Historical Society, Ottumwa Regional Health Center Auxiliary and Chief Wapello Memorial Park Association.

Surviving are several nieces, nephews and their families and a sister-in-law, Eileen Hendricks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her siblings.
