Alice Augusta Cardwell April 20, 1916 – March 10, 2012 Alice Augusta Cardwell – a lifelong Pendleton resident passed away on March 10, 2012, at a local foster care facility in Pendleton, Oregon, at the age of 95 years.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 20th 2012, at 12:00 P.M. Noon, at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Pendleton.

Alice was born April 20, 1916, on the upper McKay Creek in Pendleton, Oregon. She was the daughter of Walter Paul Reimann and Olive Clara Jones-Reimann. Alice attended both Gray Eagle County School and Pendleton High School. She obtained a "Degree of Excellence" certificate in the Palmer Method of Business Writing School located in Pendleton, Oregon, May 8, 1931. When Alice was 16 years old, she started working as a waitress in the Oregon Café. Alice married Luther Cardwell on December 23, 1950, at the local Presbyterian Church in Pendleton. They were married 35 years. She worked at F.W. Woolworth for many years as a cashier. Alice attended the First Christian Church and also the First Baptist Church of Pendleton.
She was preceded in death by: her parents Walter & Olive Reimann, her husband Luther Cardwell, sisters June Reimann, Elsie Guyll, Viola Gruver and Betty Fordice.
She is survived by one sister Beulah Chaney and one brother Walter Bud Reimann. Alice is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Her nieces include: Brenda Howard, Deanna Hoffman, LaDonna Coulter, Vicki Krumbein and Valarie Cooley. Her nephews include: Gary Guyll, Elmer Wayne Fordice, Douglas Gruver, Bill Reimann, Clint Fordice and Michael Fordice.
Alice enjoyed riding bicycles and horses in her youth. She also enjoyed shopping for clothes, furniture and decorative pictures for her home. She was able to live at home until her 92nd birthday. Alice loved to cook baked beans for her church luncheons and white divinity candy for the Christmas holidays. She preferred being called "Alicia" to Alice.
