DUMAS - R.A. "Pat" Joyce, 87, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with Tim Easley, her nephew, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery.

Mrs. Joyce, a longtime resident of Moore County, was born Feb. 15, 1919, in Childress. The family moved to Oklahoma, where they farmed when she was a small child.

Pat and M.M. Joyce were married on March 23, 1945, in Ponca City, Okla. Soon they moved to Moore County, where they lived at the Cactus Ordinance Works, which later became Phillips Petroleum Co. The couple had two children, Johnny and Lynda. Pat loved her home, family and friends very much.

On June 7, 1999, her husband of 54 years, M.M., died.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Sarah and Will Frye; two sisters, Mary Hager of Dumas and Margaret Ropollo of Lake Tawakoni; and a brother, Jack Frye of Dumas.

Survivors include a son, Johnny Bonny and wife Rose of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Lynda Barr of Amarillo; three sisters, Pauline Hill of Elk City, Okla., Francis Soloman of Moss Point, Miss., and Pearl Rogers of Malvern, Ark.; a brother, Bill Frye and wife Jean of Dumas; three grandchildren, Denise Serrate and husband Bryan of Tulsa, Okla., and Mike Barr and wife Brenda and Jeff Barr and wife Sheri, all of Dumas; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. Pat also leaves behind beloved nieces and nephews and special friends she loved as family.

The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association, 6605 W. Interstate 40, Building A6, Amarillo, TX 79106 or a favorite charity.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family will be at 1009 Phillips Drive.
