Mr. Osborne, who died at age 59, was one of four sons born to famed prison reformer Thomas Mott Osborne and his wife, the former Alice Devens of Boston. His paternal grandparents were manufacturer and former Auburn mayor David M. Osborne, and Eliza Wright Osborne, a leader in the Women's Suffrage Movement. Mr. Osborne's brothers Charles, also a mayor of Auburn, and Lithgow, a former U.S. Ambassador to Norway, are also buried here in the Osborne Family plot.
